Post-exercise muscle damage is the primary barrier between your workout and your goals. Endurox R4 is the only recovery drink proven to reduce muscle damage and increase both muscle function and endurance in a subsequent workout. Investigators for James Madison University conducted a series of studies measuring the impact of recovery beverages on muscle disruption and subsequent muscle performance.

The researchers found that Endurox R4, compared to the carb-only drink:

  • Reduced short-term muscle fiber damage by 42%
  • Reduced longer-term muscle damage by 47%

And not surprisingly, these reductions in muscle damage translated into:

  • 40% increase in endurance performance 16 hours later
  • 14% increase in muscle function 24 hours later

Endurox R4. Recover faster. Recover better. Come back stronger.

    Title: Great product
Comments: I used this product along with Endurox Excel while I attended the U.S. Border Patrol Academy at age 36. This brought up my endurance and always made me ready for the next day. I am 39 now and continue to use this for the long 9hr walks and/or runs we need to go through in my line of work.

    Title: Amazing/Miracle
Comments: Over the past few years as I got older I noticed I was very fatigued the day after Bikram Yoga and doing chores outside on the weekends all day. I thought I was just screwed due to age. I decided to look into what was up and I googled the suject looking for an explanation of age and fatigue/recovery. I found a recent study that spelled it out. Yes it is harder for older athletes to recover but its possible it said. There is a solution. Lots of simple carbohydrates and certain amino acids within 45 minutes of stopping your exercise. There is a window of 45 when the cells will restock. It closes after that. So I searched the internet looking for a drink with these ingredients. I found only one with the right ratios and no artificial flavors, preservatives, or chemicals. It was this one in vanilla. I ordered it from here and it worked the first day. I took it right after yoga, and had zero fatigue the next day. I couldn''t believe it, so I waited for a few more classes and a long saturday doing manual labor. It worked, it works each time. When I think of how I was cutting back on sugar after my work out trying to get healthy I laugh. No wonder it made my fatigue worse. I am so grateful for this product, I really felt I was going to have to stop yoga and that was a sad thought.

    Title: Great!
Comments: This stuff is great! I have it waiting for me in the fridge with ice so I can down it as soon as I get home and I don't have to take time mixing it, my body craves it after training. My first time tasting, it was a little chalky, but I have loved it since that first time! Works great, and keeps me out of the chocolate and and chip and soda ;)

Title: The Key is what works for you.
Comments: And this drink certainly does. Have been using it for 6 years now and it has helped me considerably.

Doesn't matter if it's a long run, hours in the saddle or yards in the water...it just works. The next day my legs feel almost like new again.

And I love the flavors. To me the Fruit Punch is a treat and I actually look forward to it at the end of my events.

Give it a try. I don''t think you''ll be sorry you did.

    Title: Even More Curious...
Comments: Looking for active feed back and I hope you''re up to it. Re-reading, I didn''t mean for it to sound as negative, as challenging (heck, you bit). I got some bad press when I criticized a health minded company... that used Sucralose (wtH!?). Their athlete-hero-spokesman is even connected with a history of cancer... Ironic?

Now to ask more than criticize (and to clarify, mistaken as I was - looking closer at the ingredients list some of the labels include while others don''t, the following):
-fructose - has bad press for it''s affect on hormone balance and for negatively affecting triglycerides, among other things. So why use it?

Sucrose, not nearly as bad, but cutting edge technology? Table sugar has been likened to poison more than once, so, again, why use it?

And my own pet peeve, SOY lecithin (and GMO at that - as it is not organic). Maybe nit picky, but my experience with the science (and marketing, as soy allergies, sensitivities, and education are on the rise) would be to use a safer, anti-oxidant loaded tocopherol, or something similar. Soy lecithin is usually processed with either hexane or ethanol, so... I''d ask again, but why? Opps.

    - And again, not to beat the dying horse, with all the bad press, why use the artificial dyes where there are natural colorings!? They are charging a premium already.

Correct me where I''m wrong, in any event I''ve added a star for the Choco and Vanilla flavors better formulation.

    Thanks.

Title: To the review below me
Comments: I can''t argue with your comments about the artificial dies and such; however you mention getting a product that is more science based. I don''t believe that one exists. While the ingredients in this drink seem rather simple, no other drink on the market has more research backing its effectiveness. If you actually read the studies and not just what the mags are saying you will realize that no other product will get you the results of this one. It is formulated with the exact ratio of carbs to protein that has been proven be scientific studies to be superior to all other combinations. Not to mention, they have included the exact amounts of antioxidants that have produced superior results in regards to hypertrophy and muscle recovery. As a graduate student of exercise physiology, I believe that this is one of the best products on the market. Sure you can go formulate your own 4-1 ratio along with adding in the other beneficial ingredients (l-glutamine & antioxidants) but why go through the trouble when you have it right here? Also, your reference to the glycemic index is invalid. Pick up an exercise physiology book and you will find that high glycemic carbohydrates provide optimal recovery pre, during & post workout. All this said, feel free to go buy your other (cheaper) supplements, but try and do your homework before making a negative review. As a side note, Robert Portman is a PhD which means he went to school for several years researching the effectiveness of things just like this. Look up the director/s of the company you decide to go with for your other supplement, chances are, he/she will not have half the credentials.

    Title: Curious
Comments: While the Chocolate & Vanilla seem safe, formulation-wise (what, the other flavors are for people that don''t get enough artificial chemical dye in their diet?), I''m curious how they substantiate the excessive price for a 24 serving size of a relatively average combination of Whey & sugars (though I''d avoid fructose in a Recovery drink - no one understands the Glycemic Index?). I''m buying a 32 serving, more science based formulation for $10 less... I''m just saying.

I''d love for all companies to user better ingredients and smart technology, so... everyone get to it?

Title: R4 is a great recovery drink
Comments: I have had great success with R4 as a recovery and fluid replacement drink. As a cycling coach, it is important that the athletes are able to train hard every single day and a healthy recovery aid is critical to that.
The proper ratio of carbs and protein combined with vitamins and glutemin make R4 ideal.

I also suggest athletes to use R4 as their first bottle on 5-6h training days as it keeps them healthy all day and the next day!

    Title: Good Stuff
Comments: I had tried several recovery drinks before trying this one and was never convinced they worked until using Endurox R4. This stuf is awesome and really helps me recover from a hard day of training so that I am ready to go again the next day. Love the product, and by the way the taste is by far the best on the market.

Title: Maintain my advantage with Endurox R4
Comments: I have been competing in multisport for several years and have tried dozens of recovery and supplemental drinks. Most of them seemed to have no results so I would stop taking them. Since I have discovered Endurox R4, that has changed. I feel like I not only recover but recover stronger. I''m able to take my next session to the level I need to. I have also started having my wife take it after work outs as she was feeling extremely fatigued. Since she has started taking Endurox R4 she has not had the muscle soreness or excessive drops in energy hours after training. Which is true for me as well. I can train, take my Endurox R4 and still stay mentally focused. Thanks PHLI, you make a fantastic product!
